For those of you who are thinking about starting a research project with your students, you may want to take some time and go through the online databases that are provided by our AEA. These databases are great resources for your students to use. They can easily replace the print encyclopedias that may be outdated in our school libraries. Your students will have access to thousands of research articles for any concept that you are wanting to focus on in your classroom. One nice thing about the online versions of the encyclopedia, is that the information is updated every year!
There are tutorials available for educators for each of the FREE databases on this site. Click on the following link to access information for these tutorials. http://www.iowaaeaonline.org/vnews/display.v/SEC/Educators|Tutorials
The AEA online databases were licensed for schools in Iowa. There are specific copying and usage guidelines for the licenses. Go to page 4 on the following document for information on how each database can be used legally.
